Short version: your calls never leave your phone. DuckingBlock blocks spam by handing iOS a list of known-spam numbers and letting your own device do the blocking. We don’t see who calls you, and we have nothing to sell. This page is a plain-language placeholder — replace it with your finalized, lawyer-reviewed policy before launch.
What we don’t collect
- Your call history or incoming phone numbers.
- Your contacts or address book.
- Your location, microphone, or call audio.
- Advertising identifiers — there are no ad trackers in the app.
How blocking works
DuckingBlock registers as an iOS Call Directory extension. We deliver a confirmed-spam number list to your device, and iOS matches incoming calls against it locally. The matching happens entirely on your iPhone; the result is never reported back to us.
What we do process
- Reports you choose to send. If you tap “Report” on a number, we receive that number so we can corroborate it against other reports. We do not receive the rest of your call activity.
- Subscription status. Premium billing is handled by the App Store. We receive only the anonymized entitlement needed to unlock Premium features.
- Basic diagnostics. Aggregate, non-identifying crash and performance data, if you opt in.
The blocklist
Our spam list is compiled from public complaint records and vetted community reports. See our listing criteria & appeal page for how numbers are added and removed.
